About The Firm

The legal advisor you choose to build and implement your estate plan will play an important role for your family and your legacy. While no single firm is the best choice for everyone, we feel Currier Ryan is ideally suited for high and ultra high net worth families who value deep experience, open communication and lasting personal connection.

Boutique estate and trust law firm

Currier Ryan is an independent boutique law firm offering a range of private client and estate planning legal services to families in the greater Boston area. Our services include custom estate plan design and implementation, tax-efficient lifetime gifting strategies, estate and trust settlement and administration, and professional fiduciary services. We foster and value long-term relationships with our clients, helping them achieve their planning objectives as their financial and family situations evolve and ensuring that their plans are implemented as they wish after death.

Big firm advice in a small firm package

Our practice is comparable to the private client practices of large and mid-sized firms that serve a similar client base. Unlike larger firms, however, Currier Ryan practices only in one area, which allows us to provide focused, timely and truly independent advice to our clients. Compared to smaller suburban firms, we provide unrivaled client service and offer highly personalized and sophisticated advice.

Network of advisors

We generally work on a team of other advisors who serve our clients, such as family offices, investment advisors, financial planners, accountants and life insurance professionals. We also work with a network of other lawyers in small and midsize practices who provide legal services that Currier Ryan does not offer, such as family law (including divorce), real estate law, corporate law and litigation.

Our history

Diane Currier founded Currier Law Offices in 2010 after retiring from Goodwin Procter where she was a partner in Goodwin’s estate planning and tax departments. In the years since, the practice has grown steadily, adding clients and additional staff to serve their needs.

Liam Ryan is Diane Currier’s son and joined the practice in 2013 after spending several years as a tax consultant at PwC.  He became Diane’s partner in 2021 and plans to take over the business after Diane retires. The firm name was changed to Currier Ryan in 2021.

Diane was for many years a partner in Goodwin’s tax department and has expertise in both income and gift and estate taxation. Liam specialized in taxation in law school and gained further experience in taxation while working in the tax consulting practice at PwC. More information about Diane, Liam and the other staff is available in the Staff Bios section of our website.
